Vacancy: Weighbridge Operator

H & S Metals are recruiting for a Weighbridge/Non-Ferrous/Scales Operator to join our team.

Location: Portsmouth area

Salary: £TBD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating weighbridge
  • Raising self-bills, and VAT invoices to email to customers
  • Submission of Environment Agency returns
  • Processing payments via BACS, cheque or via H&S Metals own debit cards
  • Managing social media
  • Organising delivery/collection of skips, or adhoc loads

About you:

The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent interpersonal and organisation skills, and be confident communicating with people at all levels. You must be able to work well within a team and individually, and experience in a similar role or environment is desirable.

Being computer literate is essential, as well as being comfortable on the phone, as the successful applicant will be the first point of contact in the H&S Metals office.

There may be times where holiday or sickness cover is required in the yard. Experience and/or qualifications in operating various plant and equipment is, therefore, desirable but not essential. However, a keenness to learn and attend training for equipment is necessary for the role.

Previous experience within scrap metal, or similar, is preferred.

The role is office based. Mon – Fri 7.30am – 5.00pm
