What Are Alloy Wheels?
Alloy wheels are created by a mixture of aluminium and magnesium, a combination which creates an attractive finish. The combination of two metals creates greater strength and an increased resistance to corrosion.
Alloy wheels have been in use for approximately 60 years, although became more popular in the mid to late 1960’s when the combination of magnesium with aluminium was refined and the wheels became less brittle – increasing in safety.
Typically used in high-performance vehicles, alloy wheels are popular due to their reduced weight, making them ideal for improved handling at speed.
Where Can I Scrap Alloy Wheels?
We have one scrap yard in Portsmouth and another close to Southampton and Winchester in Bishops Waltham. Taking your scrap alloy wheels directly to a yard will enable us to check the quality and weight before offering you a price on site.
We also offer a collection service for larger quantities of scrap metal. Give us a call 02392 755900 to discuss the scrap metal collection service in more detail.
