Metal as a substance can be used indefinitely. The metal recycling industry is huge in the United Kingdom and we work to process both ferrous and non-ferrous metals into a state fit for recycling. Your metal will be sorted and placed into a fragmentizer to make it more manageable.

So what happens to your metal once it is recycled?

Your metal will be sent to a smelter or a furnace where it is subjected to extremely high temperatures to melt it down. Each grade of metal will go into its own smelter to prevent contamination between the metals.

Once melted, and in liquid form, the metals are moulded into solid metallic bars or ingots ready for transportation or distribution. Your metal could be exported anywhere across the world to be re-used and made into a variety of products.
